Today was whole day of counseling. The new biz made my heart aches as I heard her life story of how she went into depression and cant hold her job long. Deep in her, she very much like to keep the job but her mental state just could not go on.
As a HR person, I very much like to help her but yet I have a responsibility to the Company as we are running a business. Poor girl, 24 years old and mum passed away when she was in Sec 2 and 2 years later dad passed away leaving her alone with a 30years mentally handicapped sister. She ended up putting the sister to a home and moved to stay with her maternal aunt.
Aunt was a conservative woman who just nag and very discouraging with all the negative remarks resulting in her being of so low self esteem.
HRM empathizes with her and waive off the bond. At the same time, find another way of giving her another role to take up so as to help her overcome her state of depression. Sad to learn that she did not take up the new role. In fact told her to go Novena Church before she left me this evening.
Felt quite lost on how to help her. Shared with HRM that we did our part and the rest we need to leave to God. Honestly, I ended up crying over her misfortune after counseling her.
Shared with Albert and Greg on how unfortunate she is. Told Greg that all of us in our life will go through ups and downs of life and we need to be strong ourselves as no one out there can help you and is you yourself has to be strong and go on with life.
Thank God and I ask of the Lord to bless her and heal her of depression.
Tonite, our nephew is flying to Shanghai and station there for 2 years. I pray that God will continue to give him wisdom as he take up his new role. God will continue to heal him of his hurts and the sudden death of his mother.
